Perennial herbs; branches usually prostrate, glabrous or hairy, sometimes scabrid, rooting at nodes; leaves small, opposite, petiolate, broadly elliptic or obovate, spathulate, glabrous; flowers axillary, solitary or in clusters; bracts small, spathulate or elliptic; bracteoles small, linear; calyx 6-8 mm long, divided almost up to base; sepals linear-lanceolate, glabrous or puberulous; corolla pale pink, lobes-5, oblong; stamens-4, perfect, didynamous, filaments connate near the base, anther cells very shortly mucronate; ovary shortly stalked, glabrous, 2-locular, 2-ovules in each locule; style linear, hairy; stigma simple, linear; capsules 4- seeded,oblong, glabrous, seeds orbicular, compressed, densely hairy, retinacula strong, curved.
