Plant Description

Annual or perennial herb; culms decumbent-ascending, rooting below, glabrous, exlepta single line of hairs; leaves lanceolate, rounded at base, minutely hairy to relvety below, sheath markedly striate densely ciliale along the margin, ligules short, ciliate; inflores cence a panicle of 3-5, one sided raceme, spikelets 2-to3 nale, interrupted, lanceolate, acute, lower glume ciliate, scabrid on the back, 5-nerved with an awn, upper glume hairy on the back, g-herued, lower lemma emply, acute; upper demma acute; anthess 3, yellow; cosyopsis dorsally compressed.
