Roots tuberous; stem condensed, often white with reddish purple tinge, hairy below, glabrous above; basal leaves lyrate, pinnatifid, upper ones cordate or amplexicaulate at base, clasping the cordate base, glabrous; flowers white/lilac or pale yellow, about 3 cm across, 30-40 in corymbose raceme; sepals-4, free, spreading; petals-4, obovate; stamens-6, tetradynamous; ovary 1-celled, many ovuled, stigma capitate, style beaked; fruit siliqua, linear or subtorulose; seeds 8-12, globose, pale yellow to brown. |
