Annual, prostrate, herb; taproot tuberous, fleshy, enlarged, forming a large, underground, swollen, storage organ; leaves fairly polymorphic, rosulate, pinnatipartite, procumbent, forming a mat in close contact with the ground, continuously renewed from the growing point situated in centre of rosette; flower buds appear in small clusters at the centre of rosette or solitary flowers in some of the leaf axils; flowers small, white, ebracteate; sepals-4, short; petals 2-4 or absent; stamens 6 or 4; ovary 1-celled, few ovules in pareital placentation, style short, stigma capitate; pods short, few seeded, compressed, notched at the tip, dehiscing along the length, valves winged or not. |
