Erect, 20-60 cm tall, annual-biennial herb; stem glabrous, slightly hairy near the base; lower leaves petiolate, upper ones sessile, variously lobed, lyrate-pinnatipartite; remote segment larger, margins entire or shortly toothed; racemes lax, 50-80 flowered, up to 30 cm long; flowers minute, pedicellate, ebracteate, usually yellow, sometimes white; sepals-4, saccate at the base, glabrous; petals long clawed, slightly longer than sepals; stamens 6, free, nectaries present; ovary sessile, usually many ovuled; style short or inconspicuous; stigma 2-lobed or capitate; fruiting pedicels slender; fruits elongate siliqua, often slightly upcurved, glabrous, erect or spreading, cylindric or compressed, bilocular, valves 3-veined, septum membranous; seeds 20-40, uniseriate, minute, rounded, brown. |
