Tall, deciduous, tree, unarmed, up to 10 m, bark grey, fairly smooth with horizontal wrinkles, wood lenticellate yellowish white; branches spreading; petiole about 5 cm long, petiolule 5 mm; leaves 3-foliolate, leaflets chartaceous, ovate-lanceolate, gradually tapering, 5-8 x 2.5 cm, glabrous, pale beneath, base attenuate, margin entire, apex abruptly acuminate; flower large, greenish-white/yellow, polygamous, in dense terminal corymbs; sepals 4, cohering below with convex, lobed disk; petals 4, long clawed; stamens numerous, adnate to base of gynophores; ovary on a long slender stalk, 1-celled, stigma sessile, ovules many on 2-parietal placentas; berry oblong, ellipsoid or ovate, fleshy, yellowish green; seeds many, embedded in pulp, dark brown, tubercled. |
