Annual, erect herb or undershrub, woody at base, branches terete; leaves oblong-lanceolate, margin crenate-serrate; petiole very short, pubescent; stipules linear; peduncles 2-5 flowered, short, opposite the leaves; sepals 5, linear-elliptic; petals-5, slightly longer than sepals, oblanceolate, tapering towards base, not glandular; stamens 5-10, filaments dilated; stamens numerous or twice as the petals, free or springing from a short contracted torus; ovary 2-6 celled; style short; stigma capitate; capsule short, sub-cylindric, 3-valved without internal partitions, shortly beaked, many seeded. |
