Small or large shrub; stem glabrous, young branches angular, spines straight, few or absent; leaves 1-foliate, ovate-oblong, shortly acuminate apex, rounded base; petioles narrowly winged; flowers axillary, solitary or few in cymes, actinomorphic, bisexual, white; sepals 4-5, suborbicular, acuminate membranous, ciliolate, glandular; petals 5, white, glandular; stamens many, polyadelphous, unequal in length, anthers linear-oblong, obtuse; disk annular; carpels many celled, more or less confluent; ovary globose, style cylindric, white, stigma capitate; fruits hesperidia, greenish yellow, subglobose-pyriform, rind adherent, pulp sweet; seeds 1-many, obovoid.
