Plant Description

Annual, much branched, slender, suffruticose, herb, about 90-100cm high; branches terete, slender, glabrous, pale green; leaves alternate, imparipinnate, with minute glands; leaflets very numerous 41-61, small, sessile; stipules lanceolate, membranous, deciduous, prolonged below, into auricles; flower 1-4, in sparse, axillary racemes; peduncles and pedicels usually viscid, bract small, rigid, lanceolate and gland ciliated at tip; calyx deeply 4-lobed, persistent corolla yellow, fugacious, glabrous, standard orbicular, shortly clawed; wings obliquely obovate, twice as the calyx, keel not beaked; stamens in 2 bundles of 5 each, anther uniform; ovary stalked, linear, ovules many, style filiform, incurved; stigma capitate; pods much exserted from calyx, straight or slightly curved, upper suture straight, lower more or less indented, joints 6-10, smooth or finely papillose on both faces, readily separating.
