Plant Description
Annual, prostrate, diffused, much branched herb with long hairy branches; stems densely clothed with fine, spreading hairs; leaves simple or 1-foliate, stipellate; leaflets oblong, obtuse, cordate or sub-cordate at base, glabrous except beneath the nerves; petiole long, finely downy; flowers pink, 4-8, arranged in axillary, close, short racemes; pedicels very short; calyx campanulate, teeth 5, often imbricate, upper-2 often connate, linear, obscurely hairy, equal to or less than first joint of the pod; petals pinkish-violet, not much exserted, standard broad, keel obtuse adhering to the wings; stamens diadelphous (9+1), anther uniform; ovary nearly sessile, many ovuled, style incurved, stigma capitate; pods moniliform, not twisted, 2 to 8 seeded, jointed, turgid, terete, veinless, segments thick, 1-seeded, sub-globose, densely clothed with minute, hooked pubescence, not at all reticulato-venose. |
