Annual, branched, viscous herb with glandular pubescent stem; leaves imparipinnately compound; leaflets 7-11, deeply toothed; stipules small with few, long teeth; leaflets and stipules strongly veined; flowers solitary, axillary, pedicels about 1 cm, calyx tube oblique, teeth linear-lanceolate, unequal, 2-3 times as the tube; corolla purple or white, exserted, standard broad, exceeding the wings and keel; stamens diadelphous, anthers uniform; ovary sessile, 2 or more ovuled; style incurved, beardless, stigma capitate; pods dehiscent, not jointed, oblong, turgid, glandular, short or fine, pubescence, narrowed into a beak of persistent style; seeds 1-4, ovoid.
