Erect or suberect, annual herb scarcely shrubby; young branches angular, densely pubescent; stipules minute, lanceolate; petioles very short; leaves imparipinnate, 3-5-foliolate, leaflets ovate-oblong, membranous, acute; flowers axillary, 2-4 clustered or solitary, large, sessile or shortly peduncled; bracts large; bracteoles ovate-lanceolate, aristate; calyx tubular, teeth lanceolate, aristate, shorter than tube; corolla white or light violet, about 2 cm, standard broad, spoon shaped with yellow streaks in the centre, wings incurved keel much shorter; stamens-10, monadelphous; ovary stalked, many ovuled, style bearded along inner side; pods linear about 4-5 cm long, flat, turgid, brown pubescent, 5-6 seeded; seeds, reniform black. |
