An erect, annual, pubescent herb or undershrub; stem and branches conspicuously gland dotted; leaves alternate, simple, petiolate, usually 1-foliolate, rarely 3-foliolate, broadly elliptic, chartaceous, base obtuse, apex acute, minute, margins entire, strongly nerved, gland dotted, glabrous above, pubescent on the nerves beneath; bracts bracteoles absent; racemes axillary, short, obtuse head, condensed upto 2.5 cm, 10-30 flowers aggregated, pedicel very short; bracts minute; calyx nearly campanulate teeth 5, distinct, gland dotted, glabrous, lanceolate, long; corolla blue-purple, little exserted, all petals distinctly clawed, standard and wings oblong, crisped, keels connate, tip slightly incurved, wings exceeding the keels; stamens 10, diadelphous (9+1), upper stamen free, staminal sheath short, filament filiform, anthers small, uniform, slightly dimorphous; ovary one ovuled; style long, filiform; stigma minute, terminal; pods small, subglobose, glabrous, black, indehiscent, seed solitary, reniform.
