Herb stout, diffused, much branched, up to 1 m tall; branches prominently angular, clothed with long spreading grey hairs; petiole quite long; leaves 3-foliolate, leaflets stipellate, obovate-elliptic, sub-coriaceous, apex obutse, margin entire, pubescent above, tomentose below, stipules large, foliaceous; auriculate, amplexicaul; bracts minute, lanceolate, densely silky, persistent; racemes axillary or terminal, sublax reaching up to 10 cm, flowers 2-3 in clusters; pedicels short, pubescent; calyx teeth deep, linear, acute, ciliate, as long as the tube; corolla blue, purple or pink, twice as the calyx; stamens 10, upper entirely or partially free, other 9 united; ovary sessile or stipitate, few ovuled, style incurved; stigma minute; pods sessile, flattened, joints 4-6, upper suture distinctly indented, densely covered with stiff hooked, grey hairs, faintly veined. |
