Plant Description

Annual herb, diffused or procumbent; stem straggling, wiry, grooved with minute hooked hairs; leaves 3-foliolate, alternate, stipulate, stipules lanceolate, persistent; petiole very short; leaflets obovate-oblong or elliptic-oblong, base rounded, with grey silky hairs on lower surface; flowers yellow, sometimes pale yellow or white, in terminal and axillary racemes; bracts large, lanceolate; calyx teeth as long as the tube; corolla yellow or pinkish white, large, 2-3 times larger than calyx; stamens 9+1; ovary sessile or stipitate, few ovuled, style incurved, stigma minute, capitate; pods linear or obscurely moniliform, slightly turgid, densely covered with hooked hairs, 4-8 jointed; seeds yellow to pale brown, rhomboidal.
