Plant Description

Annual, prostrate herb, more or less silky, much branched; leaves simple, closely-set, alternate, subsessile, cordate-ovate, unequal at the base; flowers yellow or white with purple veins, solitary, subsessile; calyx tube turbinate, acute, three lowest deepest; corolla much exserted, large, round, standard, large wings much smaller, obovate, keel narrow, joined along the back, narrowed into an incurved beak; stamens 10, all united into a tube, slit above; anthers dimorphous; ovary sessile, ovules 2, style elongated, filiform, abruptly incurved at the base, stigma terminal; pods oblong, flat, silky, 1-2 seeded.
