Evergreen medium sized tree, 15-20 m tall, with dense canopy; branches glabrous, spreading; leaves alternate, imparipinnate, 7-25 cm long, leaflets 5-7, ovate-oblong, opposite, sub-coriaceous, obtuse at base, acute at apex, margins entire, glabrous, shining; flower in peduncled axillary racemes, almost as long as leaves; pedicels very short with minute bracteoles in the middle; calyx campanulate, nearly truncate, glabrous, lobes minute; corolla much exserted, white, tinged with pink, standard broad orbicular, silky on back, wings adanate to obtuse keel; stamens 10, monadelphous, filaments connate at base, free above, anthers oblong, versatile; ovary subsessile, 2-ovuled, glabrous, incurved; style slightly curved, glabrous, stigma capitate; pods woody, yellowish grey when ripe, glabrous, flattened, oblong indehiscent, not winged.
