Plant Description

Annual or biennial, muricated, prickly herb; branches glabrous, leaf rachis armed with small, weak prickles; leaves 15-20 cm long, leaflets 41-81, oblong, base cuneate, margin entire, tip obtuse, glabrous; racemes axillary, 3-6 flowered lax, distinctly peduncled; calyx teeth glabrous, small; corolla pale yellow, standard dotted with red; stamens diadelphous, uniform, anthers obtuse, hairs basifixed; ovary stipitate, many ovuled; style filiform, incurved, glabrous, stigma capitate; pods dehiscent, very long about 10-20 cm, straight or slightly falcate, beaked with persistent style; many seeded; seeds oblong, brown.
