Shrub or under shrub, perennial, branched up to 1 m hight, leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets lanceolate, up to 3 cm long, acute at both ends, veins thickened and prominent beneath; stipules adnate to the petiole for most of their length, persistent, apiculate; flowers small, sessile in axils of foliaceous, stipulate bracts and forming closed terminal head; calyx-lobes oblong, with 5, long teeth; corolla pink inserted at the throat of calyx, standard orbicular to oblong, wings obovate, keel incurved; stamens monadelphous, forming a staminal sheath, anthers dimorphous; ovary subsessile, style filiform; stigma minute; pods very short, conceled by the persistent bracts, curved at apex; 1-2 jointed, seeds pale brown, oblong. |
