Plant Description

Erect, annual herbs, reaching up to 60 cm tall, clothed with bristly, viscose hairs; stipules small, linear, persistent; leaves alternate, pinnate with leaflets two pairs, large, membranous, oblong, very oblique, eglandular, entire, subacute or obtuse pubescent on both surfaces, petiole up to 4 cm; rachis with sub sessile gland between leaflets; racemes terminal or leaf opposed, equaling or exceeding the leaves; bract ovate-subcordate, bracteoles linear; flowers about 1.5 cm across; sepals-5, narrow, lanceolate, bristly; petals 5, reddish-yellow, very small, concave broadly obovate, subequal, clawed; stamens 5, all perfect, filaments unequal, erect, anthers of 3 kinds, 2 large, 1 medium, 2 short dehiscing by terminal pores; ovary subsessile, terete, densely, strigose, style slightly curved, glabrous; pods short-stipitate, ligulate, falcate, glabrous, oblique, covered with stiff, grey, glandular hairs; seeds 5- 6, ovoid, shiny.
