Plant Description

Shrub up to 2-3 m tall, branching from the base, branchlets very thick, downy pubescent; leaves 30-60 cm long, subsessile, rachis narrowly winged, without gland; stipules deltoid, persistent, auricled at base; leaflets 8-14 pairs, oblong, obtuse, unequal, broadly rounded at base, glabrous above and obscurely downy beneath, margins entire, petiolule short; bracts large, membranous, caducous; racemes long peduncled, compact, narrow, many flowered; flowers yellow, 2.5 cm across; sepals-5, oblong, obtuse; corolla very distinctly veined, petals 5, yellow, ovate, clawed; stamens 10, 7 perfect, 3-posterior without anthers, very unequal; ovary stipitate, many ovuled, style incurved; pod compressed or subterete, 10-20 cm long, straight, subterete, glabrous, dehiscent, ligulate with a broad wing, apex obtuse; seeds 50 or more.
