Plant Description

Erect, tall, shrub; branchlets virgate; leaves subsessile, pinnatlely compound, 5-9 cm long, finely grey pubescent; stipules broad, foliaceous, reniform, persistent, cordate at base with one end produced into a tail; leaflets 6-12 pairs, obovate-oblong, obtuse or emarginate, thin, subcoriaceous, glabrous above, sparingly puberulous below, with erect gland in between all pairs of leaflets; flowers in corymbose racemes, axillary or terminal up to 10 cm long; bract, bracteoles linear; flowers large, showy, yellow with orange veins, 3 cm across; calyx lobes 5, ovate, obtuse, unequal; petals 5, golden yellow, ovate, concave, obtuse, clawed; stamens 10, upper 3 staminodes, antheriferous 7, unequal filaments; ovary stipitate, falcate, pubescent; pods 7-12 cm broad, few seeded with space in between; seeds, linear, straight, ligulate, glabrous, flexible, dark brown; seeds 6-12, uniseriate, ovoid, compressed.
