Medium sized, unarmed tree with branches densely pubescent; rachis with a small gland on the petiole and other between the lowermost pair of pinnae; stipules minute, caducous; leaves bipinnate, pinnae 4-10 pairs; leaflets 15-30 pairs, small, sessile, membranous, caducous, finely pubescent, grey or glaucous beneath; flowers yellow, sessile, fragrant in 12-20 flowered heads; peduncles densely tomentose, crowded in the axils of upper, much reduced leaves; calyx funnel shaped, shortly stalked; corolla yellow, lobes 5, linear to lanceolate, 3 times longer than calyx; stamens yellow, many, monadelphous at base, filaments 3-4 times longer than petals; ovary sessile or shortly stalked; style filiform; stigma minute, capitate; pods distinctly stalked, thin, flat, ligulate, indehiscent or subdehiscent, sutures not thickened, 6-10 seeded; seeds opaque, compressed, grey brown. |
