Armed, large shrub; branches slender, zigzag; prickles straight, solitary or paired, white or straw colored; leaves alternate, bipinnate, primary rachis grooved, ending in a short spine; stipules spiny, stout; pinnae 2-4 pairs, pinnules about 20 pairs, sessile, oblong; flowers yellow in dense axillary, elongate spikes; bract small, membranous; calyx cup-shaped with teeth obscure; corolla pale yellow or whitish, twice as long as calyx; stamens 10, exserted, free, anthers crested with deciduous glands; ovary stalked, many ovuled, style filiform, stigma minute; pods torulose, pendulous, falcate, slightly curved, mesocarp pulpy; seeds brown,10-20, globose, compressed. |
