Annual, biennial or perennial erect, tall, glabrous herb with specific, strong, aromatic smell; stem terete, striate, polished; leaves decompounds, (2,3 or 4 pinnate) much dissected into ultimate segments linear, very long, leaf base sheathing; flowers very small in large, terminal or axillary, compound umbels; bracts-bracteoles absent, primary and secondary rays many, calyx absent, petals 5, yellow, ovate, emarginate, often inflexed, free, valvate or imbricate; stamens 5, epigynous; ovary 2-locular, crowned with a large epigynous disk; ovule solitary, pendulous in each locule, styles 2; fruit of 2 indehiscent carpels, pendulous from summit of the carpophore; fruits oblong, glabrous, green, prominently 10-ribbed, beaked. |
