Climbing or scandent shrub; branches pubescent or villous, sometimes nearly glabrous; leaves opposite, simple or 3-foliolate, terminal leaflet ovate-elliptic, auriculate, lateral leaflets very small, less than one fourth of the terminal leaflet, rounded, usually pubescent, sometimes glabrescent, nerves few, lowest oblique; cymes terminal, paniculate, grey pubescent; pedicels very short or absent; bracts small, linear, acute; calyx teeth minute, narrowly oblong; corolla salver shaped, white, glabrous, tube about 1.5 cm, lobes 5-9, almost equaling the tube, narrowly elliptic; stamens-2, included in corolla tube, filaments very short, anthers oblong; carpels, globose; style half as long as corolla tube stigma bilobed; fruits berry ellipsoid or globose, usually black. |
