Perennial, erect, much branched shrub, glabrous when mature; leaves elliptic-oblong, entire, acute with 2 small glands at base; stipules linear, red; flowers in terminal, corymbose racemes; pedicels rusty tomentose, jointed above the middle; bracts-bracteoles linear, acute; sepals-5, eglandular, ovate, sometimes recurved; petals 5, yellow, subequal, clawed, limbs triangular, entire on margins; stamens-10, long and short alternating, episepalous ones longer, anthers oblong, filaments dilated at base; ovary globular, 3-celled, sometimes 2 cells abortive, ovule 1 in each cell, styles 3, caducous, stigma capitate; fruits globose, brown, dry, smooth, mericarps not winged, dehiscent. |
