Plant Description

Annual or perennial, prostrate herb; wiry branches, covered with silky hairs; leaves variable, sessile, or nearly so; linear, lanceolate or elliptic, acute or acuminate, murconate, densely clothed with appressed white or fulvous silky pubescence; flowers 1-3 together on long peduncles long; bracts small, linear, hirsute, persistent; pedicels filiform; sepals-5, free, ovate-lanceolate, acute, densely silky; corolla blue or white, campanulate to subrotate, lobes 5-plaited, subentire; stamens 5, inserted within corolla tube, filaments filiform; ovary 2-celled, 4-ovuled; styles-2, each deeply bifid for about half of its length, stigmas, terete, filiform to subclavate; capsules globose, glabrous, usually 4 seeded; seeds ovoid, pale brown to black.
