Climbing, perennial herb; stem twinning, softly pubescent or glabrous; branches very long, more or less compressed, angled or winged; leaves broadly ovate-oblong, acute, base coedate or obtuse; flowers solitary or few clustered in cymes; peduncles longer than petioles; bracts large, linear, caducous; sepals-5, ovate, free, unequal, acute or subacuminate, softly pubescent, much enlarged in fruit; corolla white or with green tinge, companulate or broadly infundibuliform; stamens-5, long, filiform fillaments, anthers large, at length twisted, pollen not spinulose; ovary 2 celled, 4 ovuled, glabrous, style filiform, stigma 2, globose; capsules ovoid, scarious or sub succulent, margins villous; seed round, smooth, black, one in each cell.
