Erect much branched shrub; stem angled, glabrous; leaves alternate, simple, lanceolate, oblong or obovate, cuneate at base, entire, acuminate, shining green above pale beneath; flowers in axillary or terminal cymes, fragrant at night, subended by narrow, lanceolate bracts; calyx campanulate, glabrous, teeth minute, triangular, acute; corolla tubular, lobes-5, short, deltoid or ovate, ciliate, spreading, acute, greenish or pale-yellow; stamens-5, included, anthers 2-celled dehiscing by longitudinal slit; ovary globose or ovoid, 2-4 locular, ovules few on axile placenta; style filiform; stigma capitate; berries ovoid, globose or ovoid, 1-seeded, white (not seen).
