Plant Description
A diffused, very prickly under-shrub with straight, compressed, yellow prickles; leaves ovate or elliptic, sinuate or subpinnatifid, glabrescent, very prickly, apex acute, base very unequal, midrib, lateral nerves and petioles with long prickles; cymes extra axillary, few flowered, peduncles short; pedicels short; calyx prickly, lobes-5, ovate or oblong, hardly enlarged in fruits; corolla blue or violet, rotate with shallow, spreading lobes, pubescent outside; stamens-5, inserted at the throat, filaments short, anthers oblong, opening by apical pores; ovary 2-celled, style short, stout, stigma capitate; berry globose, about 2 cm in diameter yellow or white with green blotched; seeds minute, glabrous. |
