Unarmed, much branched, thinly woolly shrub; leaves elliptic-ovate, subacute at apex, cuneate at base, entire, pubescent above, densely tomentose beneath; petioles stellate tomentose; flowers sessile or subsessile, solitary or fascicled, pedicellate; calyx campanulate, stellate tomentose outside; teeth 5-6, short, linear, very acute, enlarged in fruit; corolla greenish-yellow, divided more than half way down, lobes 3-6, lanceolate, valvate in bud, pubescent outside; stamens-5, inserted at the base of corolla tube, exserted, anthers oblong, dehiscing longitudinally, ovary 2 celled, style linear, stigma shortly 2 fid; berries red, globose, enclosed in enlarged calyx; seeds subreniform, yellow pitted. |
