Perennial, parasitic climber; stems closely twining, very slender, much branched, often forming a tangled mass; flowers small, white, sessile or subsessile in fasicles in dense cymes or racemes; bracts minute, ovate-lanceolate; calyx segments-5, acute, slightly unequal; corolla 5-lobed, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate; stamens-5, included, anthers oblong, filaments short, slender, inserted near the throat, scales absent; ovary 2-locular, ovules-2 in each locule; style-2, elongate, distinct, rarely united, terminal; stigma 2-lobed or capitate; capsule globose or ovoid, dry or succulent, 4 or 2-seeded, circumciss or irregularly breaking up; seeds-4, ovoid or suborbicular, compressed, glabrous.
