Plant Description

Perennial tree, branches brownish-grey; leaves ovate-lanceolate, undulate, glabrous on both sides, cuneate, asymmetric at base, margins entire, apex shortly acuminate, lateral nerves 5-6 pairs; flowers in short corymbs, mostly subaxillary, repeatedly dichotomous, branches recurved in fruit; calyx campanulate, lobes small, pubescent, ovate, persistent; corolla campanulate, tube short, lobes spreading; stamens-5, anthers exserted; ovary 2-celled, ovules 2 in each, styles-2 with 2, short, branches; drupes 4-lobed, pyrenes-4, each 1 seeded, indehiscent; seeds straight, small, ovoid, dark brown when dry.
