Evergreen shrub with upper leaves alternate, lower opposite, densely covered with stellate, silvery-white hairs; simple, oval or elliptic, blue-gray, pubescent; flowers axillary, solitary or in clusters, dark pink, lavender to purple, blooms throughout the year, usually irregular; calyx 4-5 lobed, cleft upto the base, persistent; corolla slightly 2-lipped, imbricate in bud; stamens 4, distinct, 2-celled; disc annular, glandular; ovary 2-celled, ovules many, style simple, long, stigma capitate or 2-lobed; capsule ovoid, enclosed in persistent calyx; seeds many, small, rounded. |
