Slender, twining or reduced herb, reduced to a short, erect, filiform stem, attached to the wet substratum with root like structures which possess minute bladders; leaves pinnatifid with linear capillary segments; flowers one or few, yellow with nearly straight tapering pointed spur, as long as or longer than the lower lip; pedicels absent or very minute; bracts ovate acute, bracteoles filiform; calyx lobes obscure; corolla 2-lipped, spurred, upper lip smaller, emarginate; stamens 2, attached to the base of corolla tube, filaments broad, curved, anthers 2-celled; ovary globose, 1-celled, free central placenta; ovules many; style short, stigma unequally bilobed; capsules many seeded, lenticular. |
