Small shrub, erect, anuual, about 1m high, much branched; stem 4-angled, base not pubescent; leaves linear or lanceolate, glabrous, acute at apex, tapering towards the base, entire, slightly undulate shortly petiolate: flowers small, in terminal or axillary, in lax, paniculate racemes; pedicels usually pubescent; bracts linear-lanceolate; bracteoles-2, small or absent; sepals-5, linear -lanceolate, glandular pubescent; corolla white or purple, 2-lipped, lobes cleft up to half of its length, lower lip with deep pink or purple spots pubescent; stamens -2, exserted, filaments broad, hairy upwards; anthers 2-celled, subequal, cells oblong, parallel, base bearded; ovary 2-locular, glabrous, style thinly hairy, stigma minutely bifid; capsule linear, 1.5 cm long, young slightly glandular, hairy, mature glabrous; seeds many subquadrate, rugose, without hairs or scales, yellow or deep brown
