Twining stems long, slender, dilated at nodes, retrorsely hairy or glabrous; leaves ovate-oblong, acute or obtuse at apex, rounded, cordate or hastate at base, margin entire, slightly toothed, or undulate; flowers axillary, solitary or paired; pedicels 2 in axils, 2-8 cm long; bracts foliaceous; bracteloles oblong, lanceloate, acute; calyx teeth 12-15, hardly longer than tube, usually covered by bracteoles; corolla white, fragrant, infundibuliform, lobes-5, subequal, imbricate, tube swollen, curved; stamens-4, didynamous, inserted near the base of corolla tube, included, filaments usually hairy, anther 2 celled, usually unappendaged, shortly spurred or rounded; disk annular or cushion shaped; ovary glabrous, 2-celled, ovules 2 in each locule, style long, stigma 2 lobed or entire, funnel shaped or bifid; capsules up to 2.5 cm long, grey puberulous, beaked, glabrous, shining; seeds hemispheric, rugose.
