Plant Description

Herb or undeshrubs, erect 1-1.5 m high; branches slender, hoary with stellate hairs; leaves ovate or elliptic, more often twice as long as the breadth, acuminate at apex, subcordate at base, crenate, slightly thick, coriaceous, rugose, finely reticulate above, densely white, tomentose beneath, shortly petioled; flowers in axillary, lax cymes or broad, open, slender panicles; peduncles and pedicles slender; calyx 2-lipped, 5-toothed, subequal, enlarged in fruits, decurved, pubescent, acute or acuminate; corolla white, with pink or purple spots, upper lips very short, decurved tube, lower lip longer, decline or abruptly decurved; disc symmetrical; stamens-4, anthers confluent, filaments free; ovary shorter than disc, style slender, stigma subequally bifid; nutlets orbicular, ovoid or oblong, smooth or rugose.
