Climbing or scandant shrub; rooting from the lower nodes; leaves opposite, unipinnate, leaflets 9-11, ovate-oblong, acuminate, margin deeply serrate, tendrils absent; flowers large, showy, orange, scarlet to rosy pink in terminal, drooping corymbs; calyx campanulate, shallowly 5-lobed; corolla subequally 5-lobed, tube slightly curved, mouth broad, limbs subequally 2-lipped, large, spreading, decurved; stamens 4, didynamous, included, anther 2-celled, filament hairy at base, disc annular or cushioned; ovary subsessile, 2-celled; ovules many, 2-seriate; style long, glabrous; stigma bilobed; capsules cylindrical, oblong, beaked; seeds winged.
