Plant Description

Deciduous small tree; bark grey, young parts pubescent or shortly villous; leaves opposite, unipinnate, leaflets 5-7, opposite, with terminal odd one, orbicular to obovate, cuneate or rounded at base, with rather undulate margins, emarginated or rounded, small obtuse point, pubescent; flowers pedicellate in terminal, few-flowered corymbs or racemes; calyx expanded, softly, stellately grey pubescent, cleft upto base on one side, spathaceous; corolla white, lobes obovate or oblong, margin, undulate or crisped, tube long, narrow at base, gradually enlarging upwards; stamens 4, included, anther cells oblong, almost parallel; ovary 2-celled, subsessile, ovules in many rows, style long, glabrous, stigma with 2-elliptic lobes; capsule elongate, terete or compressed, longitudinally 2-valved, usually falcately curved, acute; seeds numerous, compressed, rectangular, winged at both ends.
