Plant Description

Tall or medium sized tree with dense or sparse crown; leaves large, about 20-30 cm, unipinnate, young parts pubescent; leaflets 7-11, broadly elliptic, obtuse, pubescent; flowers large, yellowish-brown, woolly tomentose, in terminal panicle; bracts narrowly lanceolate, deciduous; calyx rusty, tomentose, irregularly 5-lobed, cleft half way down; corolla when expanded densely woolly tomentose, tube about 3 cm long, slightly curved, lobes crisped or crenate; stamens-4, didynamous, included; anther cells nearly separate, pendulous; disc cushion shaped; ovary sessile, 1-celled; pareital placenta with multiseriate ovules, style long, stigma 2-lobed; capsules cylindric, ribbed, usually twisted or curved; seeds winged.
