Plant Description
Deciduous, tall tree with dense canopy, about 8-10 m high; bark grey, young parts pubescent; leaves petiolate, opposite, digitately 4-5 foliolate, leaflets up to 15 cm long, lanceolate or oblong-obovate, narrow towards base, entire, acute apex; inflorescence terminal, few flowered panicles; flowers pinkish white; calyx campanulate or spathulate, 5-lobed; corolla subequally bilipped, tube narrow, lobes spreading, obtuse, crisped, white with little tinge of pink; throat yellow, turning to white; stamens 4, didynamous, staminode present; disk cushion-like or annular; ovary subsessile, 2-celled, ovules many in 2-series; style long, glabrous; stigma bilobed; capsule elongate, 2-celled, 2-valved, septum thick; seeds large, thin with membranous wings. |
