Decidous, 10-20 m high; bark grey-black; leaves 20-25 cm long; leaflets 3-6 pairs, elliptic, caudate, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, margins entire, glabrous; flower in terminal, long, slender, terminal, drooping panicles; calyx campanulate, glabrous or pubescent, truncate or shortly lobed; corolla pale yellow with red streaks, thinly vilous, lobes5, equal, crisped; stamens-4, didynamous, included, adnate to the base of corolla, filaments glabrous or with dense tuft of hairs at the base, anthers 2-celled, staminodes small; disk cupular; ovary linear, oblong, 2-celled, style slender, stigma 2-lobed; capsules very long, up to 50 cm loculicidal, 4 angled, curved or spirally twisted; seeds oblong, many, in 1-2 series, compressed or subtrigonous with membranous wing on each side. |
