Medium sized, tree, branches spreading; leaves palmately 5-foliolate, leaflets elliptic, ovate or oblong, terminal leaflet largest, acuminate at apex, entire, subcoriaceous; flowers showy, rosy-pink, funnel-shaped, in terminal clusters, usually flowering shoots leafless; calyx tubular, truncate or shallowly 5-lobed; corolla pink, bilabiate, tubular or infundibuliform, tube narrow, long, lobes obtuse, spreading, throat yellow, turning white; stamens-4, shortly exserted, anthers 2-celled, staminode present; ovary linear-oblong, ovules many, 2-seriate; style long, stigma simple; capsules 2-valved, dehiscing at right angle to the septum; seeds numerous, compressed.winged.
