Plant Description

Erect or climbing shrub with branches straggling, glabrous; leaves usually opposite, unipinnate; leaflets 5-11, ovate or elliptic-rhomboid, acuminate at apex, crenate-serrate; inflorescence terminal racemes or panicles; flowers subsessile, orange-red, funnel-shaped, on short peduncles; calyx tubular, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed; corolla tubular, orange-red, tube long curved, subequally 5-lobed; disc cupular-pulvinate; stamens 4, exserted, hairy at the insertion point; anthers 2-celled, staminodes small; ovary oblong or narrowly cylindric, compressed, ovules 2-4 seriate in each locule; style long, stigma simple; capsule linear, about 7 cm long, 2-valved, somewhat compressed, many seeded; seeds flat, hyline, winged.
