Plant Description

Erect or sub-erect, annual, pubescent, perennial herb; stem and branches more or less glandular-hairy; leaves simple, subequal in pairs, shortly petiolate, ovate to oblong or lanceolate, apex acute or acuminate, margins waxy, base rounded, glabrous above, glaucous beneath; flowers 2-3 together in lax, pedunculate panicles; pedicels short; bracts minute, ovate, acute; perianth white with yellow or pink tinge, funnel shaped, glandular, 2-3 lobed, tube longer, limbs short; stamens 2-3, slightly exserted, anthers white, ovary oblique, stipitate, style slender; stigma peltate or capitate; anthocarps obconical, 5-angled, truncate at apex, glabrous.
