Perennial, beautiful, climbing shrub with branchlets and rachis passing into tendrils; leaves alternate, stipulate, ovate to deltoid, acute to acuminate at apex, amplexicaul at base, margin entire, undulate, glabrous; flowers in fascicles arranged in axillary racemes; tepals 5, showy, red, pink or white, ovate to cordate or subcordate; stamens 8, connate at the base into a ring with short teeth in between; styles 3; achenes 3-angled, enclosed in the enlarged papery perianth. |
