Plant Description

Perennial, rhizomatous, erect, decumbent, or climbing herb, simple or branched, mostly glabrous with numerous black, glandular dots; leaves alternate pubescent in lines with upwardly curved hairs; leaf blade 3-5 veined from base, ovate to narrowly or broadly elliptic, base nearly rounded to broadly cuneate, apex acute to shortly acuminate mostly glabrous; spikes terminal or axillary, 1-4, densely flowered, perianth absent, stamens 2, short, anther cells confluent, ovary 1- locular, 1-ovuled,; fruits sessile, very broadly ovoid to globose, warty, beak obliquely conic.
