Annual, prostrate, dichotomously, branched herb; stem slender, filiform, grooved, glabrous, many branches spreading from the root; leaves opposite, obliquely oblong, rounded at apex, glabrous; stipules bipartite or laciniately toothed minute; cyathia subsolitary, axillary; glands oval, shortly stipitate with small petaloid appendage; involucres campanulate, flowers pale pink; bracts minute, acute; stamen included, anther cells globose; ovary exserted, 3-lobed, glabrous, style short, deeply bifid; capsules of 3, 2-valved cocci, separating elastically from the columella, dehiscing ventrally, keeled, globose, quite glabrous; seeds-4 angled, concave on sides, transversely rugose, brown. |
